New house, monsoon season, went for the Cadillac of cleaners. The Z5i did not disappoint. Using an independent source for bottom and wall cleaning (pebble tec) allows skimmer to be set for max cleaning of tons of leaves on surface. During monsoon season (AZ) old pool would take 3-4 days to bring back from mud/sand pit look. Although filters require daily cleaning during monsoon season, it did a spectacular job removing sand, dirt, leaves, and small sticks. Monsoons in evening, swim ready the following afternoon.

Over the past 15 years, we have purchased 1+ of every major brand of suction side pool cleaner. Never again with the Z5i.

Thanks Maytronics, for a great product.

and I am super glad I did. I have an inground pool and since my husband passed away pool cleaning by
myself was a challenge and I hated to keep calling someone to come and help me set things up.

Now that I have Miss May (my pet name for my active 20) she and I have no problem keeping the
pool sparkling…and it has been a pretty hot Summer.

    Girl power !

3 out of 5 Probably good for regular pools

    Dan

I bought the S300I thinking if anything could clean my pool while I did other chores this was it. Where I live broad leaves, pine needles, pollen, and dirt are a constant battle. The intake for leaves is kind of small for what I need, but it’s wide shape is better than circular ones for getting the pine needles. My pool is 10ft deep and about 40k gallons. It will move back and forth quickly without slowing down. While it does attack the leaves aggressively I wish they would make a beefier model for pools like mine. The app is less than useless can’t get it to work. Cleaning it out isn’t the easiest as leaves get caught in the vents and there’s no way to take them off to clean them out you have to wash them back and try to fish them out. So there is room for design improvement in my opinion. If any pool is a proving ground for robot cleaners mine is it. If you have mild leaves and dirt this will probably work great, but if you get a lot of leaves this will help but you will either have to help it or run it several cycles through out the day. If your thinking about buying this robot and aren’t surrounded by trees this will probably work great, but if I didn’t have all the trees I would have gone with a smaller one.

3 out of 5 Does not clean free form pools

    Donald Schlicht

I tried two demos units, one a Dolphin Echo and the other a Dolphin S300. I have a small “L” shaped pool and both cleaners would not automatically go into the short side of the “L”. I even tried starting the unit with the unit in the short side, and it still did not clean it! The only way the unit entered the short side of the “L” was to drive it there via the app. May work good for a rectangular pool, but not for a free form pool.

5 out of 5 Great unit.

    jandk.s28

I waited till i had this unit for an entire pool season before i wrote a review. I found it worked extremely well. It climbed my pool walls and bench seats with ease. Never ever getting stuck. No issues (except for winding up that power cord but that’s minor). My pool hasn’t looked this good ever. I don’t know if it’s because i used this every other day but i never had an algae issue all season and we had some extremely hot weather this summer up here in Southern Ontario. Wish i had bought it years ago.

Opened the box. Read the skimpy instructions and threw it in the pool. The machine acted very confused, made many jerky back and forth moves without covering much territory. I got tired of watching it, I left and came back two hours later. The pool was spotless. Can’t ask for more than that. My pool is twenty by forty with rounded ends and steps and seats on the deep end. 29,000 gal. Barely missed a crevice. This machine replaced an Auqabot in the same price range and seems to work much better.

This has been a relatively good cleaner. I have a couple minor things that need repair or replacement. However, 16 months after purchase the power supply completely died. It will not come on. Of course it is no longer under warranty. And it is a very expensive replacement. Nearly half the cost of a completely brand new pool cleaner. I am not suggesting you find a different pool cleaner. I am simply saying you may want to do further research to see who else is having similar issues with their power supply.

This is my second year with this cleaner. After struggling with Polaris for many years I am so pleased with the Dolphin. Easy to clean. Cleans well. Only became entangled with cord once. The cord does twist on itself but I simply untwist it every time I empty it. Highly recommend it over the Polaris. Seemed I was always working on the Polaris.

    5 out of 5 M400 Review

    Rick Wojan

After researching all of the different pool cleaners I bought the M400 and couldn’t be happier – it does a great job of completely cleaning the pool – floor, walls and steps. It’s quite easy to operate and saves me hours of time during the week and on weekends. On top of this their Customer Service is phenomenal and a pleasure to work with – they take the time to call and email back promptly (thanks Mandy and Tamara) to answer a request. Purchase a Dolphin and save yourself time, money and researching other manufacturers as the M400 is top notch in every respect. Then get yourself a proper beverage and watch it work.

5 out of 5 Very dissappointed in the S200

    Tim Bartin

First, It will not pick up small to medium leaves – they just clog the intake baffle.

Second – you will need to clean the shallow end manually – if you have a steep angle for the deep end

Compared to my old DX-3 and previous units – this is a do not buy.

SCP would not take it back after 30 days – I called the rep and there was not much support

We purchased our Dolphin Deluxe 3 in July 2009. We couldn’t live without it. We have had zero repairs or problems. We did have to restitch the cloth diaper, as we call it, but nothing else. We recommend it to everyone who has an in ground pool.

I purchased the Solo after Hurricane Michael destroyed our screened enclosure.

I have been using it for six weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The Solo is the “entry level” Dolphin, but let me tell you – it is a cleaning machine. It collects sand and dirt, leaves, and even caught a few nails we missed cleaning up after the hurricane.

Buy the Solo. You won’t regret it.

I love this robot. We call ours Eva. I am most impressed with her wall climing ability and active brushing. After many, many hours of outstanding performance, it’s time to replace both white front wheel bushings but I’m not sure the part number. Could use some help with that. I highly recommend this unit as it is so well designed. Simply amazing.

5 out of 5 Cleans up after Hurricane Michael

    Dale M.

This probably exceeds the manufacturer’s warranty however after Hurricane Michael destroyed our screened pool lanai and filled the pool with metal, shingles and every type of leaf of twig imaginable, we were at a loss on how we would get the green trash filled pool clean. After pulling out the big pieces and still faced with lots of debris we took the gamble that our Dolphin Nautilus Plus would do the job. We used the spring filters and pulled the Nautilus Plus out every five minutes or so (less as it cleaned) and to our great joy, it cleaned up all of the debris in the pool. Then once we got the big stuff out we changed filters and it finished the job to a clean pool. Again, not what it was intended to do necessarily but proof that this does a great job!

  23. Gregg Winters

4 out of 5 Fantastic Cleaning Robot- Nees a couple of improvments...

    Gregg Winters

First and foremost, this Robot will clean you pool completely and in 2 hours. Brilliant!!!

Drawbacks… Poorly designed “securing clips” to the bottom of the filter. 4 on each side of the filter to secure the bottom of it to the frame, but they are about 1/8 of an inch square, and on the “heavy dust filter” all 8 of these clips have “sheered off” during normal cleaning. Luckily, the top “s shaped” clip that secures the top of the filter are good enough to hold the filter in place even missing the bottom clips. The Display on the cleaner doesn’t actually display anything!!! Like time to end of cleaning or a quick clean feature. It just has 4 blue lights that let you set up daily, every other day, or 3 times a week cleaning, if you leave the cleaner in the pool all the time, which I don’t. I clean if after every pool cleaning. The Cleaner also has a tendency to get stuck at 45 degree angles when trying to clean stairs. I can not let it clean unattended due to this happening. After it tries to free itself off of a step at 45 degrees, I’ve frequently had to “pull it free” with a slight tug on the power chord. or it will get stuck “forever” trying to free itself, which it can’t do. Lastly wrapping the chord at the end of the cleaning on the company’s own “caddy” is difficult, because a clip you wrap the chord around at the bottom of the caddy is too short for the length of the cable, and wrapping that last “10 feet” is always a pain. All those things considered, I would buy this again in a heart beat. It does a fantastic job of cleaning every inch of your pool (Except trouble on stairs) GO BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

The dolphin Triton PS is the first/only pool cleaner we have used (first time pool owner) and we love it. We have lots of leaves and are pretty sure we would hate the pool if it were not for the Dolphin.

  25. Glenn English

5 out of 5 Better than the Polaris 9550 Sport

    Glenn English

After numerous problems and expensive repairs on a Polaris 9550, including a failed cable replacement ($450 repair) and finally a failed controller unit (est. $700 repair), I gave up on the 9550, and after discussion with a few pool equipment experts, I bought a Dolphin S300i. Like the 9550, this unit is expensive, but that is about all they have in common. In addition to the expensive repairs, the 9550’s cable constantly tangled, the unit regularly stalled in a curve of my pool, the basket was thin and the fabric would split open if full. I purchased the S300i from All Seasons Pools & Spas in Roseville, CA. The store manager, Brandon, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He assembled the caddy for me and had it ready to go when I arrived at the store. Brandon even registered the S300i Unit for me with his store and with Maytronics. By buying at an authorized brick and mortal authorized dealer I got a full 3 year parts & labor warranty (1 year added to the standard 2 year warranty). After my issues with the 9550 this was huge. I ran the S300i to the test of cleaning my very dirty leaf filled pool and after 3 cycles my pool was super clean. This unit actually filters while it cleans so dirt is not just stirred up and spit back out. The cable has a tangle preventing adapter that works really well. The top loading basket and filter unit is easy to access and clean. It pick up big leaves and pretty much everything except for a few 12”+ long redwood twigs which I manually removed. If with proper care, the S300i last as long as the 7 to 10 years that I am hearing it should, I will be extremely happy, especially if most of those years are trouble free.

I was a little worried about putting an electric robot in my pool. However this robot has more than proven its reliability and its work capabilities. I’ve had mine since September 2018, and I’ve run it every other day during winter to keep the pool clean. We just had pollen and tree buds, and it easily removed the trash off the sides and bottom. So far this guy is a keeper!
